ABOUT THE ROLE

Aion Worldwide is seeking a Senior Geospatial Engineer on behalf of our client; a company based in Ghana, operating data, technology, and spatial intelligence. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geospatial Engineering, GIS, Geomatics, Computer Science, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in geospatial engineering, GIS development, or spatial data systems

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Proficiency in GIS platforms such as Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo
• Strong programming ability in Python, R, or JavaScript for geospatial data processing
• Experience with geospatial databases including PostGIS, SpatiaLite, or Oracle Spatial
• Working knowledge of remote sensing, LiDAR, satellite imagery analysis, and photogrammetry
• Familiarity with cloud-based geospatial platforms (Google Earth Engine, AWS Location Services, Azure Maps)
• Competency in coordinate reference systems (CRS), projections, and geodetic frameworks
• Experience with geospatial web services (WMS, WFS, REST APIs) and platforms such as Mapbox or Leaflet

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional certification such as GISP (GIS Professional) or equivalent industry credential
• Experience supporting infrastructure, energy, urban planning, or environmental projects with geospatial deliverables
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior geospatial staff or manage workstreams independently
• Strong communication skills; able to translate complex spatial data into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders
