Dear Colleagues and Fellow Engineers,
As this year gently draws to a close, it gives me deep joy and gratitude to reach out to you. This moment invites reflection not just on the passing of a year, but on a shared journey we have walked together as members of the Ghana Institution of Engineering.
As you may be aware, in March this year, through your overwhelming support and firm belief, I was entrusted with the honour of serving as your President. I do not take this trust lightly. I remain deeply grateful for the confidence you placed in me, and I have carried this responsibility with humility, purpose, and resolve guided throughout by our LAH Strategic Focus for 2025–2027: “Engineering Our Future: Do It Well. Do It Right.”
2025 is a defining year in our journey, marked by progress that will shape the history of our Institution. For the first time, GhIE convened a Town Hall Meeting, creating an open and inclusive platform for honest dialogue between leadership and members. We also reinforced our professional values through a Leadership and Ethics Lecture, reminding ourselves that true engineering excellence must always be anchored in integrity.
We successfully organised the 55th Annual General Meeting and Conference, providing strong thought leadership on national development. We proudly inducted 450 new professionals through three separate Induction Ceremonies, welcoming a new generation into our noble fraternity.
This year also marked a significant transition with the appointment of our new Executive Director, alongside a Communications and Public Relations Manager signalling renewed energy, clarity, and strategic focus for the Institution. Across the country, our Branches and Technical Divisions held their Annual General Meetings, strengthening grassroots engagement and professional collaboration.
These achievements did not happen by chance. They were made possible by your commitment, your participation, and your belief in GhIE not merely as an institution, but as a collective force for national progress.
As we step into a new year, let us carry forward the lessons of 2025 with confidence and humility. Let us remain united, ethical, innovative, and courageous.
On behalf of Council, I thank you sincerely for your trust, your support, and your service throughout the year. I wish you and your families a peaceful and restful holiday season, good health, and a New Year filled with renewed energy, opportunity, and meaningful impact.
Together, we will continue to engineer the future by doing it well, and by doing it right.
Kind regards,
Ing. Ludwig Annang Hesse
President, Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE)
