In a global effort to raise awareness of breast cancer, October has been designated as Pink Month.
The GhIE organized a Health Screening and Wellness event to complement breast cancer awareness.
The event took place at the Engineering Centre in Accra, from Tuesday, October 11 to Friday, October 14, 2022.
Speaking at the opening, the Executive Director, Ing David K. Nyante noted, “With all the uncertainties around us in recent times, we must continue to take necessary and proven public health precautions to continue to protect our health and the health of our communities”. He also elaborated on the need for individuals to also ensure that public health is given the maximum attention, irrespective of one’s schedule or practice.
The theme for the event was “Wellness Through Engineering.”
A number of lecture sessions were held online alongside the health screening at the Engineering Centre. The sessions covered organic food, exercising, healthy dieting, mental health, breast cancer awareness, arthritis and heart diseases facilitated by health practitioners from Claron Health International.
