
GhIE President, Ing. Ludwig Annang Hesse, visited Branch #1 in the Ashanti Region, meeting with Branch leaders at KNUST to discuss office needs, engaging members in a webinar on his vision, and holding talks with KsTU leadership on faculty subscriptions and strengthening engineering programmes.




The President of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), Ing. Ludwig Annang Hesse, paid an official visit to the Ashanti Region (Branch #1), where he engaged with leadership, members, and key stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and share his vision for the Institution.
His visit began at the Branch Office, located in the TRECK Building at KNUST, where he met with the Branch Chair, Ing. Dr. Joseph X. F. Ribeiro, and the Branch Administrator, Mrs. Magdelene Gyedu. Discussions focused on the current state of the office and the possibilities of securing a permanent space to better serve members. Later in the evening, the President joined members of the Branch in a webinar to outline his vision for GhIE. The session offered an interactive platform where members shared their comments, suggestions, and questions, all of which were addressed by the President. On the following day, Ing. Hesse met with the Pro Vice-Chancellor of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), Ing. Prof. Abena Obiri-Yeboah, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Ing. Prof. Julius C. Ahiekpor. Their discussions centered on strategies to facilitate the payment of GhIE subscriptions for faculty members and on exploring collaborative opportunities to strengthen engineering programmes at KsTU. The President expressed his appreciation for the strong support that KsTU continues to provide to GhIE Branch #1 and emphasized the importance of nurturing closer ties between academia, industry, and the Institution in advancing engineering practice in Ghana.
