Branch 2 of The Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), held its maiden Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday June 2, 2022 at the Tyco City Hotel in Sunyani.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion included the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Owusu Banahene, Ing. Prof. Kwadwo Adinkra (Vice-Chancellor of Sunyani Technical University), Ing. Prof. Nana Sarfo Agyemang-Derkyi (Dean, School of Engineering, University of Energy & Natural Resources-UENR), Ing Ahmed Ewura (Regional Director of Community Water & Sanitation Agency) and Ing. Francis Babereyir (Area Manager, NEDCO)
The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Owusu Banahene in her keynote address, admonished engineers in the region to compliment the efforts of her outfit to find lasting solutions to challenges within the region including flooding. She expressed her willingness to partner strongly with the institution to implement engineering related undertakings and activities in the region.
The Chairman of Branch 2, Ing Dr Emmanuel K. Nyantakyi assured government of the Institution’s willingness and readiness to provide technical and expert support in engineering to help improve infrastructural quality and overall national development.
The President of the GhIE UENR Students Chapter, Master Anthony Apatika, also made a presentation on their activities.
