GhIE introduces paperless event registration

The Ghana Institution of Engineering as part of its agenda to go paperless in its operations has introduced Event Registration Kiosks to replace the manual registration of participants at conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, etc.  They were introduced at the just ended 2-day Mechanical & Electrical Technical Division conference organized by Ghana Institution of Engineering on Thursday, 7^th November, 2019 at the Engineers Centre, Roman Ridge, Accra.

Participants who used the kiosks expressed great satisfaction in their ease of use and functionality.

The secretariat explained its use as:

1. Members received an email invitation with a link for registration. 
2. On clicking the link, a 5 character code is sent to the member
3. On the day of the event, all the member has to do is to key in the code and is automatically registered; a process that was taking approximately 20 seconds.

Approximately one-third of the attendees registered online and it’s the intention of the Institution to make it the default mode of registering for events.
