Written Examination

The Written Examination assesses candidates’ ability to apply engineering principles, professional judgment, and problem-solving skills within their respective engineering disciplines.
The examination is conducted in Accra and designated GhIE Branch centres to accommodate candidates across the country. Candidates are expected to demonstrate their understanding of engineering practice, ethics, safety considerations, and professional responsibilities.
Successful performance in the written examination is required before candidates can proceed to the Oral Examination stage.

Oral Examination

The Oral Examination is the final stage of the professional examination process. It is conducted virtually by a panel of experienced engineers from the Ghana Institution of Engineering.
During this session, candidates are assessed on their engineering competence, professional judgment, communication skills, and understanding of engineering ethics and practice. The panel may ask questions related to the candidate’s Career Report, engineering experience, and professional responsibilities
