The Conference was held at Peduase in the Eastern Region of Ghana from January 21-25, 2019 and was attended by His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of Ghana and Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, the Hon. Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) . Participants included experienced practitioners in science, technology, engineering and innovation (STEI) resident in Ghana and in the Diaspora and drawn from universities, research institutions.
The general consensus was the urgent need to put in place a domestically driven and directed technology to power the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda for building a resilient, dynamic and self-reliant economy that generates employment for the youth.
