Ing. Matthew Adombire

On the evening of Thursday, 15th August 2019 an enthusiastic group of people gathered at the Ghana Institution of Engineering in great anticipation and celebration of an important event, the launching of “Water Supply for the Consumer 2nd Edition”by Ing. Mathew Adombire.

Ing. Adombire is a former Vice-President of the Institution.  He has also served on the Management Boards of Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI), Ghana Irrigation Development Authority (GIDA), Water Research Institute (WRI) and National Project Steering Committee of the District Capacity Building Project (DISCAP).

According to the author, the book consolidates all the information needed by anyone involved in the water supply industry such as engineers, management and even consumers.

Launching the book, the Managing Director of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), Ing. Dr. Clifford Braimah, who was the chairman of the function, expressed delight and congratulated Ing. Adombire for his efforts in putting his thoughts in writing, this is the 3rd book he has written. The GWCL boss disclosed that he referenced Ing. Adombire’s first edition in his academic thesis and urged everyone, especially those in the water sector, to grab a copy to read. He stated that, the book is a good story being told for the Ghana Water Company; and added that GWCL would tap into the expertise of people like Ing. Adombire to run their training school.

In his welcome address, the President of GhIE, Ing. Alexander Leslie Aryeh said, the Ghana Institution of Engineering is proud of Ing. Adombire.  He congratulated him on the quality of the book and its content, which would go a long way to help sanitize the water sector and enhance quality water supply to consumers in the country.

The Executive Director of GhIE, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong disclosed that every Engineer should have 18 points of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per annum to be of good standing. So, attending programs like a book launch such as this should to earn participants some CPD points.

A goodwill messages were delivered by the CEO of Community Water & Sanitation, Ing. Kwadwo Worlanyo.

The program attracted dignitaries from Ghana Water Company Limited, Community Water & Sanitation Agency, Engineers, Past President of GhIE, Ing. Dr. Kwame Boakye and many others.  Significant quantities of the book were sold as it attracted strong patronage from organizations involved in water supply in Ghana.
