A three-day orientation and retreat organized for the newly elected Councilors of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE)has concluded successfully. The program ran from May 7, 2021 to May 9, 2021 in Peduase near Aburi.
The orientation and retreat which is part of the Institution’s anticipated new phase had participants from the various officeholders on Council to enhance efficiency and effectiveness to boost the activities of Council and the Institution as a whole and other services.
The President of GhIE, Ing Rev Prof. Charles A. Adams, in brief remarks, encouraged participants to bring to bear, some positive change in their new roles; he continuously stressed that “effective leadership and teamwork is key to achieving exponential growth in Institutional goals and targets”.
He further congratulated them on their appointments and wished them well in their endeavours. “I believe that what we learn coupled with our discussions and interactions will bring the needed transformation for the benefit of engineering practitioners in Ghana,” he added.
Presentations were delivered by Ing Ludwig Hesse on “Roles, Functions and Responsibilities of Executive Committee and Council”, Ing Michael Dedey on “GhIE Mandate of Authoriies”, Ing KwabenaBempong on “Professional Registration and Engineering Professional Examinations”, Ing Kingsford Laryea on “Roles of Technical Divisions”, Ing Dr Emmanuel Nyantakyi on “Roles of Branches”, Mr Mohammed Issah on “Status of ICT”, Ing Hector Boye on “Status of Projects”, Ing CarlienBou-Chedid on International Engineering Organizations Relations” and Ing Magnus Quarshie also presented on “International Engineering Organizations Relations”.
