Engineers around the world commemorated 50 years of existence in collaboration with the Institution of Civil Engineers UK who also marked their Bicentenary dubbed ICE 200 at the Global Engineering Congress in London. Under the theme: ENGINEERING LEADERSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRESSING UN SDGs, global engineering leaders, national and international policy makers, asset managers and experts from across the built environment deliberated on how to tackle a global challenges and devise plans to improve the lives of millions around the world.
The event also coincided with the UK Government’s Year of Engineering. Ghana Institution of Engineering President Ing. Steve A. Amoaning-Yankson led the GhIE delegation including, Ing. Mrs Carlien Bou-Chedid, Ing. Dr. Kwame Boakye both Past Presidents, Executive Director Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong and Ing. Rita Ohene Sarfo Women in Engineering President of the GhIE.
In a related development on the sidelines of the Congress, the Immediate Past President Ing Mrs. Carlien Bou Chedid was unanimously elected as the President-elect of the Federation of African Engineering Organisations FAEO at the General Assembly held at the Kenya High Commission in London.
